ATTENTION: Incoming international flyers traveling to Mumbai needs to follow set of rules, says BMC



Over 18,400 new COVID cases are reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday released a guideline for all the international passengers traveling from UAE and high-risk countries and those who are arriving at Mumbai International Airport to need to undergo mandatory RT-PCR test.

"If passengers are tested negative, they will be allowed to leave and stay under 7-day home quarantine. Those passengers who are found corona positive will undergo quarantine. Fully vaccinated passengers are exempted from such rules unless asked to do so by authorities," said Kiran Dighavkar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, BMC.

The state of Maharashtra reported more than 18,000 fresh COVID cases in the past 24 hours, informed the state health department.

In total, there are 66,300 active cases in the state out of which only Mumbai reported 10,860 COVID cases yesterday. The scare of the Omicron variant has created an alarming situation across the state.

Total deaths reported across the state in the past 24 hours are 20 COVID-related deaths, while 4,558 patients have recovered.
